How do you….?

Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

There is no right or wrong way, it’s really a matter of personal preference, I have found. This has recently been a discussion in my family, which started when my oldest son’s friend posted the following on my son’s FB page:

I put peanut butter and jelly on the same slice of bread.

It took no time at all for the comments to filter in, all against this obscure way of making a PB&J sandwich. This is actually how my son, my mom and myself make the sandwich. But my daughter and middle son make it by putting the peanut butter and jelly on separate slices. So with that I realized it’s not a family thing, it’s really a personal thing. I went on to explain the logic for the way I make it, that way you have an empty slice where you can actually wipe your knife clean on that slice of bread, which my mom of course agreed with. Otherwise, I come across a knife that is loaded with peanut butter in the sink to be washed….ahhhh…so that’s why that happens. Anniehow…

With the rise in peanut allergies, it would be interesting to see how that weighs in, so I added that in to my little poll. Funny how when I was a little kid, no one was allergic to peanuts, but it’s a real serious thing now.

So chime in and cast your vote, let me know how you make yours, and if I get enough responses, I’ll analyze the data and post the results.
